Who can make large section bricks to a traditional style?

Cradley Special Brick manufacture some of the UK's largest extruded bricks which have been produced in response to a nationwide search by British Waterways.

These bricks can be found on a number of refurbishment and construction projects on canal sides around the country.

Traditional Style

Our range of large special brick units is in response to the Victorian preference for large section brickwork, which they used to cap walls and pillars. These units are synonymous with Victorian designs and are finely represented on the network of canals built in the late 1800s. We consider these waterways an integral part of British heritage, so we're pleased to manufacture bricks to maintain them.

Along with Waterways projects we have manufactured large bricks for the renovation of tunnels and bridges surrounding railways. Our giant coping and capping units provide protection and decoration to otherwise plain bridges.

Our wealth of experience and dedicated facilities make our very large brick units of the highest quality. All of our special shaped bricks are highly durable and entirely frost resistant. Large bricks are most often used in exposed areas, so they need to be tough: the way we make them.
